The cap goes back on the product, which is a squirt bottle. Once you mix your developer, powder lightener, and lightening creme, you’re going to have a creamy consistency as you see above. I was actually incredibly pleased with the brush this kit came with, and I rinsed it off to save it for future uses. It also comes with detailed instructions, two gloves, and an amazing, sturdy brush you use to distribute the color through your hair. The kit comes with bleaching powder, bleaching creme, and a bottle of developer that you use to mix everything together with. Instead of having the entire bottom section of your hair ombre, it allows you to pick pieces of that bottom half and ombre them instead. ![]() The subtle look on the left side was perfect for me, and I knew I was going to follow the directions for that look. ![]() Luckily, they give you two options in the directions: subtle or bold. I didn’t want my hair to be as dramatic as the cover picture, and I was looking for more of a subtle, blended in type of ombre. The main image on the box is a little intimidating at first glance. The kit I specifically used is 060 – For Medium to Dark Brown Hair. Did my hair turn out the way I wanted it to? Part of being a beauty blogger is getting to test out new, and sometimes intimidating products, so I gave this one a whirl and just went for it. I love the ombre look on dark hair, especially when it cascades into a golden, reddish-brown. I feel that almost any mistake I may make in my ventures can always be fixed (even if I have to Google it!), so I was mostly excited about trying this kit out. As the years have gone on, I am now 100% a DIY kind of gal when it comes to my hair. I used to be incredibly conservative about my hair, never wanting to try do-it-yourself ideas out, afraid my hair would turn strange and unusual colors. The L’oreal Paris Feria Wild Ombre Hair Kit revolutionizes the hair care product aisle, allowing consumers to purchase their own kit to ombre their hair and give themselves the look without going to a hairdresser. I don’t recommend this product.I must confess that I ran the full gamut of emotions when it came to reviewing this product. The comb was nice, so I will keep it and use it in future colourings. The formula seems to be straight bleach, of which there are better, cheaper options available if you just want to lighten your hair. The final step was to apply the conditioning shampoo, which was very rich, and went a long way towards restoring moisture to my hair.Īltogether, I found this ombre hair pack disappointing. The dye washed out well, but my hair was very dry afterwards. Instead there was a stark contrast between my regrowth, and the newly lightened strands. My hair did not look good! There was no nice blending of colours. I left the lightener on for the recommended time, and the end result was very patchy, yellowish, and almost orange in places. However, the colour result was not what I wanted at all. The smell of the dye was strong, but not overpowering. It gave a very even dispersal of colour onto the strands of my hair and allowed me to coat the hair thoroughly. I found this to be a very good method for applying colour to my hair. After you have combined the lightening products, you then coat the bristles of the brush, before combining the colour onto your hair. ![]() The brush is what sets this pack apart from other hair colour kits. The pack comes with an Activating Powder, Developer Cream, Lightening Cream, Colour Conditioning Shampoo, and a DIY brush. As part of the Colorista range, this is designed to lighten your hair in preparation for adding one of L’Oreal’s washout colours. ![]() The dye comes in a white and silver box, with pictures on the front and on the side of the results you can expect after lightening your hair. I wanted to put some highlights around my face, and try to blend my lightened ends into my regrowth without lightening all of my hair. I had a bit of regrowth showing, so I thought I would try this ombre pack.
